Note: Japanese porcelain manufactured in Kaga Province, now part of Ishikawa Prefecture from 1655 to 1704 and again from 1807 to the present. Older productions are typically tableware in dark overglazed enamels, the bodies being coarse-grained and the glazes varying from dull to shiny. Later productions feature more eclectic, colorful, and intricate designs.

| Dutch ..... Japans porselein dat in de provincie Kaga, nu deel van de Ishikawa-prefectuur, werd gemaakt van 1655 tot 1704, en wederom van 1807 tot heden. De oudere producties zijn meestal tafelgerei met donker geglazuurd email, een ruwe en korrelige structuur en glazuren die variëren van dof tot glanzend. Latere Kutani-producten hebben meer eclectische, kleurrijke en complexe decoratieve ontwerpen. |
