Note: Dolls found in ancient Egyptian graves, typically carved out of flat pieces of wood, roughly in the shape of a paddle, and decorated with paint and hairmade of strips of clay or wooden beads. Their function may have been as toys but also as protective figures for the deceased in the afterlife.

| Dutch ..... Poppen die in oud-Egyptische graven zijn aangetroffen en die enigszins op een peddel lijken. Ze zijn meestal gesneden uit vlakke stukken hout en zijn gedecoreerd met verf en met stroken klei of houten kralen die haar moeten voorstellen. Ze zijn mogelijk als speelgoed gebruikt, maar misschien ook als beschermende figuren voor de overledenen in het dodenrijk. |

Bonecas encontradas em túmulos do Egito antigo, geralmente esculpidas em pedaços planos de madeira em formato parecido com um remo; decoradas com tinta e com cabelos feitos de tiras de argilas ou contas de madeira. Pode ter tido a função de brinquedo, bem como de figuras protetoras para os mortos na vida após a morte. |
