Record Type: concept
jarosite (pigment) (mineral pigment, natural inorganic pigment, ... Materials (hierarchy name))

Note: Pigment prepared from jarosite mineral. Jarosite has been found on ancient Egyptian pottery, but this occurs in a context that makes it extremely unlikely to be an alteration product, as had been suggested previously. Previously not known as a historical pigment, jarosite has been identified as the yellow pigment in the murals of the temples of Karnak, Egypt.

Terms:
jarosite (pigment) (preferred,C,U,English-P,D,U,N)
jarosiet (C,U,Dutch-P,D,U,U)

Additional Notes:
Dutch .....
