Het betreft bijvoorbeeld constructies die bekend zijn door archeologisch bewijs of historische gegevens, maar die vernield zijn of anderszins verloren zijn gegaan. Gebruik 'verlaten bouwconstructies' voor constructies die als ruïne bestaan of verlaten zijn.
