Note: Use generally for partitions set up in religious and Roman Imperial buildings or outdoor areas between sacred and profane spaces or between certain Imperial and public spaces; use specifically in Jewish contexts for partitions in front of Torah shrines, especially in Byzantine and earlier periods, and in Christian churches for partitions separating the chancel from the body of the church, particularly when the chancel does not also include a choir. Use "choir screens" for the screens around the choir when the choristers are seated in the chancel area. For screens separating the sanctuary from the nave in Orthodox Eastern churches, use "iconostases."

| Arabic ..... يُستخدم بشكل عام للأقسام المقامة في المباني الدينية والإمبراطورية الرومانية أو المناطق الخارجية بين الأماكن المقدسة والمدنسة أو بين بعض الأماكن الإمبراطورية والعامة؛ تُستخدم على وجه التحديد في السياقات اليهودية للقواطع الموجودة أمام مزارات التوراة، خاصة في البيزنطية والفترات السابقة، وفي الكنائس المسيحية للقواطع التي تفصل المذبح عن جسد الكنيسة، خاصة عندما لا يشتمل المذبح أيضًا على جوقة. استخدم "شاشات الجوقة" للشاشات المحيطة بالجوقة عندما يجلس المغنيون في منطقة المذبح. بالنسبة للشاشات التي تفصل الحرم عن صحن الكنيسة في الكنائس الشرقية الأرثوذكسية، استخدم "الأيقونات الأيقونية". |

| Dutch ..... In het algemeen te gebruiken voor tussenwanden in religieuze en Romeinse keizerlijke gebouwen en openluchtlocaties tussen gewijde en wereldse ruimten of tussen bepaalde keizerlijke en openbare ruimten. In joodse context specifiek te gebruiken voor tussenwanden voor Torah-altaars, voornamelijk tijdens of voor de Byzantijnse tijd, en in christelijke kerken voor tussenwanden die het koor scheiden van het schip van de kerk, vooral als het koor geen zangkoor bevat. Gebruik 'koorafsluitingen' voor de schermen om het zangkoor als de koristen in het koor zitten. Gebruik 'iconostasen' voor de schermen in oosters-orthodoxe kerken die het heiligdom van het schip scheiden. |
