Note: Refers to a system of projection generally used in creating large-scale map series, where each map is depicted as part of a cone tangent to the globe at the particular latitude. The projection is based on the concept of a series of concentric cones being placed over the sphere so that each cone is tangent to a different latitude, where only the section of each unrolled cone that lies along a common central meridian of longitude and forms a strip on both sides of the line of tangency is represented. In this system, all parallels of latitude are arcs of nonconcentric circles, and the meridians of longitude other than the central meridian are represented by curved lines.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 一種製作大比例地圖集常用的投影方法；在地圖集中，每張地圖即是一圓錐與球體於特定緯度上之切面的部分投影。投影方式是在球體上方安排數個圓錐，每個圓錐與球體相切的緯度圈不同，每個圓錐展開時僅有一部分會在一條共同的中央經線上，這些部分在切線兩側形成條帶，最後的投影圖就是這些部分的組合。在多圓錐投影圖中，緯線為非同心圓弧，而經線除了中央經線之外，其餘皆為曲線。 |
| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een projectiesysteem dat algemeen wordt gebruikt voor het maken van grootschalige kaartseries en waarbij iedere kaart wordt afgebeeld als deel van een kegel die raakt aan de bol op een bepaalde breedtegraad. De projectie is gebaseerd op het concept van een reeks concentrische kegels die zodanig over de bol worden geplaatst dat iedere kegel raakt aan een andere breedtegraad, waarbij alleen het gedeelte van iedere afgewikkelde kegel wordt afgebeeld dat langs een gemeenschappelijke centrale meridiaan ligt en aan weerszijden van de raaklijn een strook vormt. In dit systeem zijn alle parallellen niet-concentrische cirkels en worden alle andere meridianen dan de centrale meridiaan weergegeven als gekromde lijnen. |
| Spanish ..... Sistema de proyección usado generalmente para crear una serie mayor en el mapa, donde cada sección del mapa se representa como una tangente del cono en una latitud particular. La proyección se basa en el concepto de una serie de conos concéntricos que son colocados sobre la esfera de modo que cada cono sea tangente a una diversa latitud, en donde solamente la sección de cada cono desenrollado forme una sección en ambos lados de la línea que se representa.
En este sistema, todos los paralelos son arcos no concentricos, y los meridianos con excepción del meridiano central son representados por líneas curvas. |
