Note: Culture and style of a Turkoman tribal confederation and Muslim dynasty that ruled over a vast empire in the Middle East 1374-1468 CE. At peak, their territories encompassed modern-day Azerbaijan, Armenia, northwestern Iran, eastern Turkey, and northeastern Iraq. The group originated from the Yıwa and Baharlu branches of the Oghuz Turks, originally settling in the region south of Lake Van.
