10.1 Iconography Source
10.1.1 Definition
References to bibliographic sources or unpublished sources for the Descriptive Note and other information recorded in this Iconography Authority record, particularly for information other than names (which are linked in a separate instance of the Source Authority).
10.1.2 Values
Values are controlled by a link to the Source Authority.
10.1.3 Sources
The same authoritative sources that are appropriate for the rest of the record may be used.
10.1.4 Discussion
It is important to note the published or other sources of information in the IA record. The names have a separate link to Sources, but here in this field, link any other sources that were used for information other than names.
Include links to Iconclass, Library of Congress Authorities, and other resources having overlapping subject terminology. In the page field, include the code or link to the source.
Include links to images. In future a 10.3 Media field will be added to the IA, but currently use the Source and Page fields.
10.1.5 Rules
10.1.5.1 Minimum Requirements
Required if applicable: If you have written a descriptive note, it is required to cite the sources here.
10.1.5.2 When to Cite Sources
It is required to list the sources used for the Iconography Authority Descriptive Note here. Link to other sources used for fields other than the name.
Note that it is required to check for the subject in Iconclass and the Library of Congress Authorities. The unique code or controll number mapped for these sources should be recorded here in the Page field. If the source is already linked in names, it need not be repeated here.
Also use this field to record source names for links to representative images for the iconographical subject. In the page field, record the URL for a link to the image.
10.1.5.3 Citing Sources
Link to sources in the Source authority file. For detailed instructions for creating citations, see 12.3 Appendix C: Sources. Record volume and page numbers as appropriate in the Page field; also use Page field for codes or links to the sources in the Page field (described below).

10.2 Page
10.2.1 Definition
Page number, volume, date accessed for Web sites, and any other information indicating where in the source the information was found.
10.2.2 Values
Free text. Use Unicode values or numbers.
10.2.3 Sources
The same authoritative sources that are appropriate for the rest of the record may be used.
10.2.4 Discussion
It is important to note the page or other location in the source where the descriptive note or other information was found. Users should be able to refer to the source and verify the page or other context where you found the information.
Sources for names of subject are recorded separately, but they may be the same sources as recorded here.
10.2.5 Rules
10.2.5.1 Minumum Requirements
Optional: Optional but strongly recommended. Include the page number or other reference to where in the published work the term was found. If this is a unique identifier for the term, include it in the Code field as well.
For links to images and to other iconography resources, include the URL here.
10.3 Media
Coming soon. Field for links to URLs depicting representative images of the iconographical subject; same fields and functionality as the Media field in all other Getty vocabularies. In the meantime, record the URLs in Source.
