My Getty story was on Mother's Day 2004. My sister and I decided to take my mother to the Getty Center as a special treat.
We also brought my husband and my four-month-old daughter, Isabella. We were worried because we thought it might be too much for Isabella to handle.

In 1531, the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe is said to have miraculously appeared on Juan Diego's cloak. This relic is venerated to this day by thousands in the basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico City.
Learn how this image has been used as evidence of the Virgin of Guadalupe's miraculous powers from Jeanette Favrot Peterson, associate professor of art history at UC Santa Barbara and an expert on Latin American art.

Admission to the Getty Villa is always FREE. A ticket is required. Each Villa ticket allows you to bring up to three children ages 15 and under with you in one car. Ticket availability is updated weekly for a two-month period. Same-day tickets may also become available online without advance notice. Groups of 15 or more must make reservations by phone. Parking is $15, but FREE for evening events after 5:00 p.m. |
