Programs for Teachers
|
 |
Educator Eidelriz Senga leads a workshop that examines whether artists accurately represented how clothes were worn in antiquity. Learn to determine whether you should take what you see in works of art at face value, or if more lays beneath the fabric.
See all upcoming Wednesday Teacher Workshops.
Space is limited to 20. Call Visitor Services at (310) 440-7322 to sign up!

Our new Create + Connect After School Workshops are designed for small group discussion and collaboration, with an exciting hands-on art-making component.
This month K-5 grade teachers will learn how to adapt online lessons to explore the current exhibition The Life of Art: Context, Collecting, and Display. Get to know the hidden stories of four objects in the Museum's collection–a fanciful wall light, an aristocrat's chair, a precious silver fountain, and a cross-cultural bowl.
Open to 20 participants. Sign up today by calling (310) 440-7322.

Explore our new exhibition Gothic Grandeur: Manuscript Illumination, 1200–1350 online and in person. Drawn from the Getty Museum's collection, this exhibition includes manuscripts characterized by whimsical marginal decorations, vivid narratives, and a naturalistic style of painting.
Throughout the exhibition, curator Elizabeth Morrison will be highlighting fascinating details from these exquisite manuscripts in a column on our blog,
The Iris.
