School Visits
|
 |
The exhibition Leonardo da Vinci and the Art of Sculpture: Inspiration and Invention will be on view March 23 through June 20, 2010 at the Getty Center. We are anticipating large crowds for the show, and so will be distributing timed tickets to guests on arrival.
We have set aside a limited number of these complimentary, timed tickets just for school groups. If you are bringing your class to the Getty Center and want to see this exhibition, Education staff will provide information about obtaining these tickets, if still available, upon arrival. These tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, we may not be able to accommodate every school group.
For more information about School Visits, visit the School Visit section of our Web site.

The exhibition Drawing Life: The Dutch Visual Tradition features some of the most beloved genres depicted by Dutch artists during the 1600s. The drawings in this exhibition include the depiction of beetles, panoramic landscapes, and children playing—a celebration of Dutch life in all of its diversity.
After exploring the exhibition, adapt the lesson "Framing the Landscape" and work with your students in grades 312 to build a personal drawing vocabulary. Students can experiment with various tools to create their own unique lines and marks using traditional art media, then create their own drawings that celebrate contemporary life in all of its diversity.
View the lesson "Framing the Landscape."

Gallery Closure
Half of our first-floor galleries in the West Pavilion are closed for reinstallation and will reopen in March of 2010. These galleries include our 18th- and 19th-century displays of decorative arts, terracotta, and marble sculpture in Galleries W103, W102, and W101.
