Hubacher, Carl (Swiss architect, civil engineer and photographer, 1897-1990)

Note: From 1929 to 1936 Carl Hubacher was partner with Rudolf Steiger in the architectural and engineering firm Hubacher and Steiger. The firm Hubacher and Steiger participated in the Werkbundsiedlung Neubühl (Zurich, Switzerland), and Hubacher worked as an engineer on the housing development and designed the Typ A Reihenhauswohnung mit Dachterrasse (Type A row house with roof terrace) with Rudolf Steiger, and Emil Roth from 1928 to 1929. From 1929 to 1931 Hubacher was a member of the board of directors of the Genossenschaft Neubühl which in 1930 contracted the collective formed by Hubacher himself, Rudolf Steiger, Max Ernst Haefeli, Werner Max Moser, Emil Roth, Paul Artaria and Hans Schmidt to construct the buildings for the Werkbundsiedlung Neubühl. In 1931 Hubacher, Max Ernst Haefeli, Sigfried Giedion, Werner Max Moser, Emil Roth and Rudolf Steiger were commissioned by the Schweizerischen Werkbund to decorate model houses and apartments (Wohnaustellung) at the Werkbundsiedlung Neubühl.
