Muzaffar 'Ali (Persian painter, calligrapher, and illustrator, died ca. 1576 )
|
Note: Muzaffar 'Ali studied painting under the celebrated Bihzad and learned calligraphy from Rustam 'Ali; he specialialized in the nasta'liq script. He worked on an Album for Bahram Mirza in 1544-1545 along with his master. After supposedly learning painting from his great-uncle, Bihzad, Muzaffar 'Ali illustrated numerous munscripts. Some of them are copies of Nizami's Khamsa (Five poems, 1539-1543), Asadi's Garshāspnāma (Book of Garshasp,1573-1574), and Jami's Haft awrang (Seven thrones, 1556-1565). |
