Alberti, Joannes Echarcus Carolus (Dutch painter and lithographer, 1777-after 1850)
|
Note: Went to Amsterdam at the age of five and began his studies; at 26 he left for Paris on a grant from the King of Holland. He entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in March 1807. Later he travelled to Italy and copied the work of Guido Reni and Van Dyck. He returned to Paris to establish his studio. Attributed to him are many original engravings and some based on works by the old masters. |
