Master of the Coronation of Bellpuig (Italian painter, active 2nd half 14th century)
|
Note: Named for a Coronation of the Virgin at Bellpuig, Spain, now destroyed, but influential in later art. The painting showed influence of Sienese and Umbrian art. It is debated whether or not this anonymous master is Ferrer Bassa (a Catalan artist who studied in Italy), an assistant of Ferrer Bassa, or an artist working alone without connection to Ferrer Bassa. |
