Byron, Percy C. (English photoengraver, 1878-1959, active in New York and Edmonton)
|
Note: From 1906 to 1916, Byron lived in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, for health reasons. While there, he began the first photoengraving plant in Western Canada. After World War I, Byron began to specialize in documenting ships and shipping in New York Harbour. In 1923, after his father's death, Byron managed the family photography firm, Byron Company, until 1942 when he closed the business and donated the archive to the Museum of the City of New York. In 1944, Byron became a commercial photographer for the Art Photo Engraving Company. |
