Byron, Joseph (British photographer, 1847-1923, active in the United States)
|
Note: Before 1888, Byron worked for the firm "Byron Company" established by his grandfather in Nottingham-on-Trent, England, in 1844. He also worked as a news photographer in England and documented the coal mines for the British government. In 1888, Byron and his family emigrated to the United States. In that same year he opened a photographic studio, also called Byron Company, in New York City, New York, where he was assisted by his wife Julia Lewin and their five children. Byron specialized in theatre photography and scenes of New York City. |
