Liédet, Loyset (South Netherlandish illuminator, ca. 1420-1479)
|
Note: Possibly born in Hesdin. He may have collaborated with the Master of Amiens 200 on the second volume of "Fleur des histoires" for Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy (ca. 1460). He was the most active illuminator at the Burgundian court around 1470, producing over 400 miniatures in two years for Charles the Bold. Liédet sometimes worked in grisaille but most of his work is distinguished by its gaudy, artificial coloring. His figures have long, awkwardly jointed limbs and stiff poses. |
