Note: The town in Hainaut province of eastern Belgium is located on the Belgian-French border, across from Tourcoing, France. Its economy is driven by textile manufacture. It is noted for the Church of St. Bartholomew, built in the 15th century and subject of several restorations. The 2003 estimated population was 52,400.
