Note: Village located 6 miles from Rothbury. The name means "home of Eadwulf" in Anglo-Saxon. Its recorded history dates to 737 when King Coelwulf gave Edlingham and three other royal Northumbrian villages to Cuthbert. Site of St. John the Baptist Church and Edlingham Castle.
