Note: The town of Steinheim an der Murr was established near a Franconian royal court, its existence documented in the 9th century. It was chartered in 955. Its historic architecture includes an early 15th-century church and a half-timbered town hall dating to 1686. It is known as the site of the discovery of a hominid skull dating to 40,000 years before present. The 2004 estimated population was 11,200. |
