Summer is here, and the time to party has arrived. Fridays Off the 405 features free live music and a cash bar (open until 8:30 p.m.).

The bugs are here! Discover the world of things that crawl at Maria Sibylla Merian & Daughters: Women of Art and Science and learn about the lives of insects through her extraordinary illustrations. Also, be sure to zoom in on our finest photography acquisitions in Ten Years in Focus: The Artist and the Camera. The galleries will be open throughout the night.

June 27, 2008: No Age and DJ King Shade
Art-pop duo Dean Spunt and Randy Randall, aka No Age, create a hard-hitting, power-pop sound that always rocks. Their goal: to push all the buttons at the same time and make you so inspired you're gonna explode. The Sub Pop stars do just that with their unique blend of hummable melodies, textural loops, and crashing drums. What you get: a performance that's like gale-force rock history delivered through a wind tunnel.

No Age

The evening begins with the reggae-infused grooves of DJ King Shade, founder of the Slabco label, based on the basic principles of the Jamaican studio.

Please note that artists are subject to change without notice.
