Depart and return via the Getty Center

Bus tour of a selection of Los Angeles murals with local muralist Raoul de la Sota. The tour highlights the rich cultural diversity of Los Angeles and will include The Great Wall of Los Angeles; Hollywood Jazz; Self Help Graphics' Tropical America; and many more. Includes a presentation and discussion on the conservation of David Alfaro Siqueiros's América Tropical.

An overview of the project to complete the conservation of the David Alfaro Siqueiros mural and to construct a shelter, viewing platform, and an interpretive center that will place the mural in its historical and artistic context.

Barry Bauman and Heather Becker discuss the rediscovery and conservation of the vast collection of murals created in Chicago's public schools prior to and during the Depression. Presented by the Getty Conservation Institute as part of its Issues in Conservation series.
