Dubut, Louis Ambrose (French architect, 1769-1846, active in Russia)

Note: Dubut studied under Claude Nicolas Ledoux at the École des beaux-arts, Paris from 1793, and he won the Grand prix de Rome in 1797. Dubut wrote 'Projet de restoration du Temple de la Pudicité à Rome and Architecture civile, maisons de ville et de campagne'. From 1814, Dubut worked in Russia where he was employed in the military colonies under the Emperors Alexander and Nicolas. Dubut was also a member of the Académie de Saint-Petersbourg. |
