Kovarsky, Anatol (American painter and cartoonist, 1919-2016)
|
Note: Kovarsky worked as a cartoonist and cover artist for the New Yorker magazine from the late 1940s through the 1960s. He studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, emigrated to the United States in 1941, and enlisted in the US Army, working as a cartoonist. He later studied at Columbia University and the Art Students League. After leaving the New Yorker in 1969, he concentrated on painting full time, and exhibited in small galleries. |
