Berlin, Brigid (American conceptual artist, socialite, and superstar, 1939-2020)
|
Note: Protege of Andy Warhol, in 2008 she began producing sculptural objects, namely needlework pillows representing the front pages of tabloid newspapers. Previously she created prints using her own body covered with paint, and books of drawings and similar prints created from the body parts of others. She was a noted presence in Andy Warhol's Factory studio, and appeared in his films, as well as acting as confidante to Warhol throughout his adult life. She was the daughter of Richard Berlin who ran the Hearst publishing corporation for over 30 years. |
