Dust Muhammad (Persian painter and calligrapher, died ca. 1565)
|
Note: Muhammad was a painter and a calligrapher. Examples of his paintings can be found in 'Arifi's Gūy u Chawgān, the monumental copy of the Shāhnāma. Some specimens of his calligraphy can be seen in an album in St. Petersburg (1511-1512), and also in a collection that was compiled for Bahram Mirza. Later in his career, Dust Muhammad joined the Mughal court and came back to Qazvin; there he is believed to have copied a nasta'liq script Koran. |
