Master of the Gathering of the Manna (North Netherlandish painter, active ca. 1460-1475)
|
Note: This artist was named by Haverkamp Begemann after a painting depicting the Gathering of Manna. He was probably a Haarlem painter and close follower of Albert van Ouwater. Another panel, the Fire Offering of the Jews, is closely related in size and style; the two panels were probably wings of an altarpiece celebrating the Eucharist, since both are familiar Old Testament antetypes for the Last Supper. Two other paintings have been associated with this anonymous master. |
