Note: Painter noted for the decoration of the Grande Salle and Galerie of the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris. He was named ‘Premier peintre de la reine’. Nicolas Poussin and Philippe de Champaigne worked under him at the Palais du Luxembourg. Champaigne married Duchesne’s daughter and succeeded him as painter to Marie de’ Medici. |
