Henriette Amalie von Anhalt-Dessau, Prinzessin (German aristocrat, 1720-1793)
|
Note: After the birth of an illegitimate son she had to leave the court in Dessau. In 1753 she moved to Bockenheim near Frankfurt to be close to her son, who was given to the banker Carl Geyß for nursing. She acquired the Gollsche estate in Bockenheim. In 1770/71 the mansion was converted into a castle, where she advised Carl Geyß on financial matters. She amassed a large art collection. The approximately 700 paintings are now part of the Anhalt Gallery in Dessau, since she returned to Dessau shortly before her death. |
