Rhomaides frères (Greek photography studio, established 1869, dissolved ca. 1915)
|
Note: The Romaidis brothers opened their first studio in Patras, Greece in 1869. The brothers moved their operation to Athens in 1876. They specialized in archaeological photography and worked for foreign archaeological schools in Greece as well as the Hellenic Archaeological Society. The brothers took their first archaeological photographs at the Olympia excavations on behalf of the German Archaeological School between 1875 to 1881. The brothers were also commissioned by Heinrich Schliemann to photograph his excavations at Mycenae. When Constantinos died ca. 1900, Aristotelis continued to run the studio until his death ca. 1915. |
