Romaidis, Constantinos (Greek photographer, died before 1900)
|
Note: Constantinos Romaidis opened a photographic studio with his brother Aristotelis in Patras, Greece in 1869. The brothers moved their studio to Athens, Greece in 1876. The Romaidis brothers specialized in archaeological photography and worked for foreign archaeology schools in Greece. The brothers also worked for the Hellenic Archaeological Society. The brothers took their first archaeological photographs of the Olympia excavations on behalf of the German Archaeological School from 1875 to 1881. They were also commissioned by Heinrich Schliemann to photograph his excavations at Mycenae (no date). When Constantinos died shortly before 1900, Aristotelis continued to run the studio until ca. 1915. |
