Viñoly, Rafael (Uruguayan architect, 1944-2023, active in New York City)
|
Note: Viñoly was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, on 1 June 1944. His family moved to Buenos Aires when he was five years old. Viñoly attended the University of Buenos Aires, receiving a Diploma in Architecture (1968) and a Master of Architecture (1969) from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism. In 1978, Viñoly moved to the United States, where he served as a guest lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, then In 1983, he founded the firm Rafael Viñoly Architects PC. His firm was responsible for major commercial and cultural buildings in nearly a dozen countries. |
