Note: Born 9 April 1882; died 17 September 1950 (Dictionary of Art, 381). - Attended the Institute of Civil Engineering, Saint Petersburg, and graduated in 1912 (Dictionary of Art, 381). - Teacher at the "Institute of Architecture, Moscow" (1930-1936) (Dictionary of Art, 383). - Active member of the Association of Contemporary Architects (OSA); played an important role in organizing the "Union of Soviet Architects" and served as its secretary (1937-1949); was the first president of the "All Union Academy of Architecture" (1939-1949) (Dictionary of Art, 382). |
