Wong, Gin D. (American architect, 1922-2017)
|
Note: Wong moved with his family from China to Los Angeles when he was a child. He served in the US Air Force during WWII, enrolling in USC after the war. He studied with William L. Pereira and partnered with him when Pereira founded his firm. He is responsible for several modernist icons in Los Angeles including the Union 76 gas station in Beverly Hills. He was the design director for LAX in the 1950s, and founded his own firm, Gin Wong Associates in 1973. His firm's projects include CBS Television City, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. |
