Soldner, Paul (American sculptor and ceramicist, 1921-2011)

Note: Ceramist inspired by the Japanese firing technique known as raku created spontaneous sculptural vessels often in very large scale. He was the first student of Peter Voulkos, founder of the ceramics program at the Los Angeles County Art Institute. Soldner authored "Kilns and Their Construction" (1965) and "Nothing to Hide: Exposures, Disclosures and Reflections" (2008). |
