Kukryniksy (Russian artists, active 20th century)
|
Note: Pseudonym used by a collective of three Russian printmakers and cartoonists: Mikhail Kuprianov, Porfiry Krylov, and Nikolay Sokolov. The three were schooled at Vkhutemas in Moscow, and produced books of caricatures. Maxim Gorky helped to promote their satirical work, which contributed to their success. During World War II, the three produced posters, and then later covered the Nuremberg Trials for Pravda. |
