Gang Jin (Korean painter and calligrapher, 1807-1858)
|
Note: The late-Joseon calligrapher Gang Jin served as a civil official in the nineteenth century. He was a great-grandson of Gang Sehwang (1713-1791), a leading figure in eighteenth-century Korean painting circles. He was particularly skilled at landscape painting, but Gang was known as having accomplished the Three Perfections for being well versed in calligraphy and poetry as well. In calligraphy, he showed special proficiency in cursive and clerical scripts. He compiled his poems in "Daesanjip" (Collection of Daesan). Among his paintings is "Landscape". |
