Fuchs, Bohuslav (Czech architect, 1895-1972)
|
Note: Avant-garde architect and furniture designer was an important representative of Czech functionalism in Brno. Studied at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts from 1916 to 1923; and joined the Mánes Association of Plastic Artists in 1925, and the Index group in 1929. He became a member of the Left Front in 1930, and the Association of Socialist Architects in 1933. His influences were cubism and Dutch vernacular brick structures. He was prolific and is known to have completed nearly 200 building projects during the course of his career. Czechoslovak architect. |
