Havlíček, Josef (Czech architect, 1899-1961)
|
Note: Architect, urbanist, and theoretician was an important proponent of Czech modernism and functionalism in architecture. He studied at the Czech Technical University 1916-1924, and with Josef Gočár at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts 1924-1926. In 1920 he was accepted in the architecture section of the Devětsil Artists Association. He joined the Left Front in 1929, and the Association of Socialist Architects in 1933. He also worked in the applied arts and was a member of the Artěl Cooperative from 1918. Czechoslovakian architect. |
