Jardim, Evandro Carlos (Brazilian painter and engraver, born 1935)
|
Note: Brazilian engraver and teacher. He started his studies and artistic career in the 1950s, when he entered the Escola de Belas Artes de São Paulo. He specialized in metal engraving in the etching technique. He was politically active against the Military Regime. In 1974, he was rewarded as Best Engraver of the Year, by the Associação Paulista de Críticos de Arte - APCA. In parallel to the artistic career, he dedicated himself to the academic career, obtaining master and doctor degrees at the Universidade de São Paulo, where he also worked as a teacher. |

| Portuguese ..... Gravador e professor brasileiro. Iniciou seus estudos e carreira artística nos anos 1950, quando ingressou na Escola de Belas Artes de São Paulo. Especializou-se em gravura em metal, na técnica da água-forte. Foi atuante politicamente contra a Ditadura Militar. Em 1974 ganhou o Prêmio de Melhor Gravador do Ano, concedido pela Associação Paulista de Críticos de Arte - APCA. Dedicou-se à carreira acadêmica paralelamente à de artista, obteve os títulos de metre e doutor pela Universidade de São Paulo, onde atuou também como professor. |
