Linhart, Evžen (Czech architect, 1898-1949)
|
Note: Czech architect was a proponent of functionalism. Linhart is known as one of the Four Purists including V. Obrtel, K. Honzík, and J. Fragner; whom he studied with at the Czech Technical University from 1918 to 1924. He was a member of Arděv, the architectural group within the Devětsil Artists Association. In 1927 he joined the Architects' Club and the Mánes Association of Plastic Artists. He spent his entire career in the employ of the construction office of the city of Prague. His early works were influenced by cubism, but his mature projects grew more refined and have more in common with the international style and Corbusier. Czech architect. |
