Knip, Henriette Gertruide (Dutch still life painter, 1783-1842)
|
Note: Henriette was a painter who, like her brother, Joseph August, was taught by her father, Nicolaas Frederik. In 1803 she went to Paris, where she received further instruction from Gerard van Spaendonck, who greatly influenced her early work. She mostly painted fruit and flower still lifes in watercolor, many of outstanding quality. In 1806 she moved to Amsterdam and from 1810 on lived in Haarlem. The Teylers Museum in Haarlem and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam each have two of her flower studies. |
