Silveira, Regina (Brazilian installation artist, sculptor, and painter, born 1939)
|
Note: Brazilian teacher, multimedia artist and engraver. She studied at the Instituto de Artes, Universidade Federal of Rio Grande do Sul and at the Escola de Comunicação e Artes, Universidade de São Paulo, where she also lectured. She took part of several biennials, among which São Paulo, Mercosur, Taipei and Poznan. She started to work as a painter, illustrator and wood engraver; in the 1960s, she dedicated herself to sculpture and silkscreen, with geometric and constructive influences. More recently, she studies means of image production through electronic techniques and, on the architectural side, she produces works for defined architectural spaces. |

| Portuguese ..... Pintora, professora, artista multimídia e gravurista brasileira. Estudou no Instituto de Artes da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul e na Escola de Comunicação e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo, onde também lecionou. Participou de diversas Bienais, entre elas a de São Paulo, do Mercosul, de Taipei e de Poznan. Começou a trabalhar como pintora, ilustradora e xilogravurista; nos anos 1960, dedicou-se à escultura e à serigrafia, de influência geométrico-construtiva. Recentemente, investiga recursos de produção de imagens por técnicas eletrônicas e, na linha da arquitetura, produz obras para espaços arquitetônicos determinados. |
