Anguissola, Lucia (Italian painter, born 1536 or 1538, died before 1568)

Note: One of six sisters who were artists. The sisters were from a noble family in Cremona. The family was visited by Giorgio Vasari, a 16th-century biographer of artists, after Lucia's death, and he wrote about her family and her art. Her primary works seem to have been portraits. She may have died in 1565, certainly before 1568.
