Giunta Pisano (Italian painter, active 1236-1254)
|
Note: Giunta Pisano was one of the most important and influential Italian painters of the first half of the 13th century. He is known to have signed four painted Crucifixes, three of which survive. Boskovits has attributed to Giunta the altarpiece depicting St. Francis and Six Scenes from his Life for S. Francesco, Pisa, raising interesting questions of chronology and influence. |
