Signorelli, Luca (Italian painter and draftsman, ca. 1441 or 1450-1523)

Note: Italian painter from Cortona and an older relative of Vassari. Signorelli's style is bold with clear outlines and an emphasis on pronounced muculature. His best-known works are the frescoes that depict the Apocalypse at the chapel of S. Brizio, Orvieto cathedral, 1499-1502. These works influened Michelangelo's "Last Judgement." Italian artist.
