Note: In Brazil, he studied drawing and painting with Heinrich Moser, a German glass designer and painter. In Paris, he was Maurice Denis' student. His works portrayed rural and urban themes of Pernambuco, and there is also room for the African-Brazilian religiosity. His production dialogues with the cubism, expressionism, surrealism and purist movements, being the last one presented to the painter by professor Carlos Chambelland. His photography focuses on folkloric expression and the rural man.
