García Uriburu, Nicolás (Argentine painter, architect, and installation artist, 1937-2016)
|
Note: Argentine artist created work that focussed on the environment and water pollution. He is most well known for actions in which he would dye bodies of water using a pigment called fluoroscein that turns bright green when synthesized by microorganisms. He also worked as a painter. He was awarded the Grand Prix National Painting in 1998, the Prix Lefranc in 1968, the first prize of the Biennial of Tokyo in 1975, and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the National Endowment for the Arts in 2000. |
