Lesage, Augustin (French painter and naive artist, 1876-1954)
|
Note: Lesage was a miner who claimed that he was instructed to paint by voices and that spirits guided his choice of paint color. His first and most well known painting is 3 meters square and is meticulously covered with intricate patterns that recall Mexican, Indian, and Egyptian art. |
